What is Marketing?

Marketing uses purposeful strategy and tactics to promote a product or service. The “4Ps” of marketing have stood the test of time: product, price, place, and promotion, though we add target audience as playing an integral role (please don’t sic professors on us!). Marketing aims to deliver value to clients or customers and ultimately lead to sales, though marketing impacts all aspects of the most successful organizations. Advertising is often synonymous with marketing but is one of the many facets of marketing.
